Aye, Aye Matey!!!

I have just decided that Blogger can be frustrating!!!! I had almost the whole post done and it lost all my work. I had to start over again. UGH.

Friday, June 13th
We headed out on our weekend for Gunner's birthday present....a pirate cruise near the Gulf of Mexico. Aunt Jill was still here helping out, so Brandon stayed with her. This was no trip for a 16 month old!!

After arriving at our destination city, we registered at our hotel so we could hopefully get in our room "early". Then we headed to lunch at Crabby Bill's. We had a fun lunch! Gunner entertained us with stories and his excitement for the pirate cruise later that day. Pop took a photo of Gunner and me, Gunner was making his pirate face and showing off his pirate tattoo.

Gunner took a photo of Pop making his pirate face.....

After we finished our lunch, we headed to the hotel for early check-in. YIPEE! They had called that our room was ready early. We got ready for the beach! We had several hours before the sunset Pirate Cruise at 6 pm and wanted to enjoy our short trip. We enjoyed our time and headed to the room to get ready for our cruise. The sky was getting dark to the east, but since we were west, we didn't get overly concerned, but remember it's Friday the 13th! So we arrived at the Pirate Cruise and it started pouring, lightning, thundering, etc. Of course the cruise was cancelled. We avoided meltdown by the little pirate because there was room on the 11 am cruise the next day. THANK GOODNESS!! After spending at least 1/2 hour in the gift shop, we went and walked around the area. Decided to get ice cream. Doesn't that make you happy? It would me!! Take a look at these two.....what got into them?????

We headed back to the hotel and there was an AWESOME rainbow (so much for Friday the 13th). I couldn't get a good pic from the car, but this was the best one.
After the lightning and thundering finally stopped, we headed down to the hotel pool. It was almost sunset, so we walked to the beach. BEAUTIFUL. Also a pic of Gunner's silhouette while he was playing in the water.
The next morning we went to IHOP for breakfast. Here's Gunner's pancake......

FINALLY! The pirate cruise. Gunner's raring to go. Once we got loaded on the boat, after boarding pictures. He had an awesome time. They gave him a pirate pistol. Once the cruise started they traded in the pistols for water guns. EVERYONE got water guns and EVERYONE got wet. It was so much fun. Then the crew members told them pirate stories and they had a treasure hunt on board. And of course, FACE PAINTING! Gunner had taken off his shirt since it got so wet. He was wearing his pirate beads and just having fun. He was one of the younger children on board, but I think he had the best imagination. Toward the end of the 2 hour cruise in the bay, everyone was participating in the dancing and games. Very fun and very enjoyable!

Cardboard Box and Backyard Play

Here's some photos from the other afternoon playing in the yard. I got a new dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. I asked the delivery guys to leave the boxes so the boys could play. As a child, I remember playing in the large boxes from my grandparents grocery store and from the TV store next to them. We made houses, castles, towns and had mom & dad cut out windows and doors. Anyway, here's their fun!!

(right) Gunner's "Grandpa Pete" look.

Wanting another ride in the Cadillac!

"in this box are two things, I call them Thing 1 and Thing 2"

These last few are just precious......
