Last night Jeff and I had our first date that was not just a dinner out or function to attend without children!! (we hadn't been out in almost 2 years for something other than that) It was also to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary (Feb 13) since we had postponed it due to all my recent health issues.
With Mom & Dad here (= free babysitters) we had no worries about the boys and bedtime.
I met Jeff after his class at an outdoor concert. Thank goodness for cell phones so we could find each other. We took lawn chairs and a blanket and just enjoyed the evening. The concert was from 5 to 10:30. It was smooth jazz with Ray Parker Jr. as the headliner (remember the Ghostbusters song?) The smooth jazz musicians who opened were great and Ray Parker Jr. did pretty good. He did a lot of talking about the past and about the guys in the band with him now and who they used to play for. Brought back LOTS of memories from the 80's. (Unfortunately, we are that old!) All in all, we had a great time sitting under the stars and chillin'. It was so nice to listen to some live music and have a conversation. There were thousands of people there and we stayed til the end.
Looking forward to another date.....hopefully it will come sooner than this one did!
(Unfortunately, I got sick after we got home and was sick throughout the night. Must have been the food we ate there. I'm just not used to eating that junk anymore. We didn't make it to church today, but I felt much better by the afternoon.)

It sounds like a wonderful evening, and one you were due for! So sorry to hear that the food didn't settle well with you. Congratulations on your anniversary. Tommy and I will celebrate 20 years next month. Unbelievable!
Glad you got out for a good time!
