The month of February is somehow blessed and cursed at the same time for the Revlett family. Many GOOD things have happened in February over the years and this year as well, but also many BAD things have happened.
Let's take 2009 for example:
GOOD:
- Jeff and Jenny went to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico the 4th -8th (thru Jeff's work). We had an awesome time although I couldn't get in the water because of my feet (long story, but it has to do with the chemo I'm currently taking)
- Our families in KY survived the terrible ice storm and Mom was able to make it to care for the boys while we went on our trip.
- Jeff and Jenny celebrated their 16th Wedding Anniversary on Friday the 13th. We actually had our "romantic" dinner early when we were in Mexico.......
- Valentine's Day
- Brandon's 2nd birthday on the 15th (No celebration yet....see BAD)
BAD:
- Our families in KY were without power for several days/weeks due to the ice storm. We could do nothing to help and couldn't even reach them by phone for several days.
- All of us have had the stomach bug, one at a time, since we returned from Mexico.
- Brandon is still fighting the stomach bug. It has been 5 days. No fever, no throwing up, just diarrhea, but he's pitiful. We have not been able to have cake and ice cream for his birthday yet.
- I'm still fighting a hospital bill from December for a November treatment. I do not owe these charges and I refuse to pay. I plan to go find someone to talk to in person next week at my treatment because I'm getting no where using the phone. They have said there's nothing else to do. I don't believe that for a minute. UGH
- I still have to schedule a biopsy for my thyroid and I'm not looking forward to that.
I don't know whether it's really good or bad that I have been diagnosed with breast cancer for one year now (Feb 6, 2008). It's good because I'm still here and fighting with all my might, but it's bad because the battle is still going and I don't know when it's going to end. Next week I also have my one year anniversary of chemo treatments. I've definitely come a long way with God's goodness and the prayers of family and friends, and I feel much better than I did this time last year, but I still have a long, long way to go.
I have finally downloaded our photos from Mexico the other day and now I need to get the 35mm pics developed. Maybe I'll get around to writing a nice blog about our wonderful trip that already seems like ages ago and it's only been 11 days since we got back.

It's okay to vent now and then. We all have those days! I do hope things start looking up soon, tho.
