Easter 2008

My boys after the egg hunt at church.

Easter Sunday was a fun day for us! I got up early to prepare food for our potluck at church. Every 4th Sunday, we have Family Sunday, and this year Easter just happened to be the fourth Sunday. We also had an egg hunt after the potluck for the children.

So, I prepared my food as quietly as I could so the boys could sleep as late as possible since we were going to be at church so long. Gunner finally got up and went looking for his Easter basket. I was not prepared with the camera, so no morning photos of the event. But, he found his and Brandon's baskets and brought them to Brandon's room. He enjoyed looking through the items....binoculars with candy, a couple eggs filled with chocolate candy, a chocolate bunny and a mini Etch A Sketch. Brandon got a small chocolate bunny, a stuffed bunny and some plastic balls. They had a lot of fun playing before time to go to church.

After the potluck at church, the teens hid the eggs for the younger kids. Finally, they got to go hunt the eggs and Gunner filled his basket quickly. With Jeff's help, Brandon got a few eggs.

Pop and Brandon hunting for eggs!

Gunner wearing his Texas Ranger badge. We ALWAYS dress as a cowboy/sheriff/ranger to go to church. Not sure where his cowboy hat is at this point. Be sure to check out the new cowboy boots (got these a few weeks ago) -- he loves having people feel the "snake skin" although it's leather made to look like snake skin.

A basket full of eggs! And here's the boots:

The children who stayed to hunt the eggs. They had a great time. Just note the biggest kid is in the front row on the far left, holding Brandon. ha ha

Those are nice boots! Aren't we all kids at heart when it comes to things like easter egg hunts?

Wow, Gunner and Jeff have the same identical smile. What precious boys you have in your family. It looks like a very blessed Easter!
